Key Biscayne is a five-mile-long barrier island just off the coast of downtown Miami. Connected to the mainland by a causeway, it’s a mostly natural island with an upscale town in the middle. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, located here, was voted the No. 9 best beach in America in 2008, and the south end of the island boasts a bike path, nature trails, a sea wall for fishing, beaches for swimming, and a beautiful lighthouse. Other attractions include Crandon Park, home of the Sony Ericsson Open, the Miami Seaquarium, the Miami Science Museum, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, and some of the most verdant parks and natural landscapes in South Florida.
